O2 Litmus Terms & Conditions

Community guidelines

We don’t want to be authoritarian about what you can and can’t do in the community, but we do want to make sure that everyone gets the most out of the O2 Litmus experience. So we’ve written these guidelines to help everyone get along swimmingly. If you don’t think they’re reasonable or don’t think you can stick to them, you might be better off looking elsewhere for your mobile apps community. If you’ve got any questions or queries about any of this, please ask in the Forums or send us an email – see the contact us page for details.

Do:

Get involved

We really hope you’ll roll up your sleeves and dive right into the O2 Litmus community. Its success depends on the interaction between developers and users; that really is the whole point, and we’re very keen for you to write and/or test as many applications as possible. If you’re a user, remember that developers rely on your for feedback to improve the software; if you’re a developer, remember that the users aren’t always wrong!

Behave!

The O2 Litmus community is composed of many kinds of people, not all of whom will agree with you or believe the same things that you do, whether that’s about handsets, programming languages or indeed anything else. Please be polite and respectful towards other members; and with any luck they’ll behave the same way towards you.

Don’t:

upload illegal, offensive or copyrighted content or other material
Really, please don’t. If you’re in any doubt about what we mean by illegal or offensive, please see our terms and conditions. If you infringe this rule, you'll be removed from the community in very short time.

- take out your frustrations on others

Software development is a tricky business, and there may be times when you’re sorry you ever started writing or testing it. Don’t use that as an excuse to attack other members; it’s just software, after all.

- use O2 Litmus for commercial purposes

If you’re a developer, you can charge users for the privilege of using your applications. Other commercial uses are forbidden, so please don’t use the community as a place to showcase other products or services. This is all about creating great mobile apps, and we’re really keen to keep it that way.
